Welcome to EaglesMTB, an area youth Mountain Bike team for athletes who are interested in riding and/or racing off-road. Participants need not have prior mountain bike experience, and our team welcomes riders of all abilities and skill levels.

EaglesMTB serves the Sauk Prairie, Spring Green, Reedsburg, Mazomanie, Lodi, and Baraboo areas, including home school students who live within these school district boundaries. Students who are entering 6th through 12th grades in fall of 2025 are eligible to ride with us.

2025 will mark our eleventh year as a team: we started in 2014 with about 10 riders and anticipate over 50 this season.

We are a member of the Wisconsin High School Cycling League, which is part of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA).

EaglesMTB coaches strive to provide student athletes with the opportunity to learn new skills, develop friendships, experience team camaraderie, and develop character through the sport of mountain biking. Our coaches are background checked, trained, and certified by NICA and have first aid training.

The focus of EaglesMTB is to create a positive environment for young riders to discover the lifelong joy of being able to ride a bike well on trails. Some athletes set goals that are performance- or race-related, while plenty of other athletes are focused on personal improvement which comes easily with a sport like mountain biking. Can I get up a hill today that I’ve never been able to climb? Can I keep up with Jane who always rides faster than me?

Thanks to the tireless work of dedicated volunteers, our riders have access to riding opportunities like the Great Sauk State Trail in the Sauk Prairie area, along with the new Dam Trails at Alliant, which are in progress in Prairie du Sac. The greater Madison area has an extensive trail system maintained by our friends at CORP (Capitol Off-Road Pathfinders), and athletes are encouraged to help with local trail maintenance and stewardship.
